Regardless its title, the trek it’s by far the highlight of the Cordillera Blanca. Heading East from Caraz, through the Quebrada Santa Cruz. To cross twice the Continental Divide and then turn Northwest to gradually reach the north flanks. A remote and isolated region with deep blue – emerald – turquoise lakes, huge rivers, jagged mountains and almost no inhabitants. The feeling of wilderness and solitude hardly will find rivalry.
