DAY 02 TRAVEL TO CARAL - HUARAZ
Breakfast
We will leave Lima and take the North Pan American Highway, where we will visit the archaeological site of Caral in the valley of the Supe River at km 200. Caral is a city that is approximately 5000 years old that flourished as the first city in America, and one of the oldest cultures of the world. Here we will learn about its people who worshiped the fire and built amazing pyramids. After visiting the ancient city we will have lunch and continue our way and cross the Andean Mountains, arriving at night to the city of Huaraz.

DAY 03 CORDILLERA BLANCA (YURAC) OVERLAND / LLANGANUCO-KEUSHU

Transfer by car through the Callejon de Huaylas where we will visit Yungay and observe the remains of the town which was flooded in 1970 that buried the towns of Yungay and Ranrahirca. We climb a winding road that leads us to the massive Huascarán, with its 6788 meters and two peaks. After that we will enter the reserve area of the same name and stop to walk the Chinancocha and Orcococha lagoons. Camp at Keushu.

DAY 04 KEUSHU- CEBOLLAPAMPA -LAGUNA 69- YANAMA

After dismantling the camp, we load the trucks and walk back to the Huascarán National Park to the area called Cebollapampa, from where we start the walk of 14 k round the Lagoon 69 which has magnificent views of the North Huascarán, Chopicalqui, Chacraraju and Pisco, and finally reach the Lagoon 69, a glacial lake at the foot of Mount Chacraraju. After walking back, we will drive and cross the spectacular open Portachuelo, to reach the valley of the Conchucos. We arrive to our small and cozy hostel for dinner and rest.
DAY 05 OVERLAND CORDILLERA BLANCA-YANAMA-CHAVIN DE HUANTAR
Breakfast
Drive along the route Valley of Conchucos, the eastern side of the Cordillera Blanca, which has beautiful villages typical of this area of the Andes. Valley of Conchucos was formed by the Mosna River, part of the great river Marañon. Along the road we observe corn and wheat fields. We reach Chavín, a citadel with underground passages built approx. 1,500 B.C.

DAY 06 CHAVIN DE HUANTAR-MITUCOCHA

A private transport will pick us up at dawn to take us to our first day of hiking. Following the left bank of the Pativilca river, we ascend the valley of the river Llamac to the community of Pocpa and then to our destination: CUARTEL WAIN, where we receive our wranglers and service staff who will share our journey. We begin our journey ascending toward the Cacananpunta (4,750 m). Here we can admire a landscapes of incredible beauty: the reddish north lagoon waters of Pucacocha and the beautiful peaks of eastern cordillera Huayhuash. Later we will reach the Mitucocha camp, located at the foot of the peaks Jirishanca Chico (5,544 m) Jirishanca (6,094 m) and Rondoy (5,789 m).(Today´s hike is about 4 h-walk).

DAY 07 MITUCOCHA-CARHUACOCHA

Today’s walk will take us to the passage of Vizcas (4,650 m) where we will see the east side of Jirishanca. Later, we descend to our camp, located on the banks of the lagoon Carhuacocha, surrounded by the peaks Siulá (6,344 m), Yerupajá (6,634 m), Yerupajá Chico (6,121 m) and Jirishanca (6,094 m). (Today´s hike is about 5 hours).

DAY 08 CARHUACOCHA-HUAYHUASH
Breakfast, box lunch & dinner
After leaving Carhuacocha behind we go to the Huayhuash camp. This will be a tough day because we will walk 14 km through a steep path that leads to step Butcher (4.800 m). From the viewpoint we can appreciate the three beautiful lagoons of the Siulá canyon. At dawn we will be blessed by nature: The gaps of Atogshaico will comfort our fatigue as well as mountains Butcher (5,960 m) and Jurau (5,674 m). (Today´s hike is approx. 7 hours).

DAY 09: HUAYHUASH-KEYSTONE-HUANACPATAY

We begin the toughest day of the circuit with 4 hours of ascent to Trapeze (5,050 m). Then we descend next to the mountains of Puscanturpa and Cuyoc to reach Yanapampa. Later on we ascend to the passage of San Antonio (4,700 m) from where we will have a spectacular view of the mountains, finally we descend to Huanacpatay camp. (Today´s hike is about 10 hours).

DAY 10: HUANACPATAY-HUATIAC

After a short break we drive to the left side of the gorge to reach the Calinca Huayllapa village (3,300 m), where we will have a box lunch before camping in the hills of Huatiac in front of Mount Diablo Mudo. (Today´s hike is approx. 7 hours).

DAY 11 HUATIAC-JAHUACOCHA
Breakfast, box lunch & dinner
Cross two high passes: Col de Tapush (4,750 m) and the Col Yaucha (4,847 m). The tour starts at the tip of Tapush (4,750 m), Susucocha (4,600 m) next to the snowy Diablo Mudo. We descend to the plains of Yaucha. We reach Jahuacocha Lake at the end of the day. (Today´s hike is approx. 7 hours).

DAY 12 JAHUACOCHA-POCPA-HUARAZ
Breakfast, box lunch & dinner
On the last day of our trip, the mountains of Huayhuash will be far behind. We can spot the small peaks of the Cordillera Rosario. After about two hours of walk we will reach the forest of Warmi Huañush (where the woman dies). Hummingbirds and other birds of bright colors give us a peace and charm. We descend to the picturesque village of Pocpa, birthplace of our wranglers, where a private car will take us to the village of Chiquián, where we stop for lunch before heading to the city of Huaraz.(Today´s hike is approx. 4 hours /3 hours bus).

DAY 13 RETURN TO THE LIMA CITY
Breakfast
After about 8 hours of trip we will arrive to the hotel in Lima, after an unforgettable adventure in the peruvian Andes . Overnight in Lima.

At the indicated time, transfer to the airport for your flight back home.
